Dodd Construction offers delivery of gravel, fill dirt, top soil, rip rap, chert, river rock and sand to residential or commercial sites. We can help you determine how much you will need for your project. Contact us at 256-523-1427 if you are unsure.

There are several sizes and colors of rock and gravel, so if you are unsure of what type you need, it is best to call us to discuss which material is best for your project. Building a new driveway or improving the condition of an existing driveway with an established base, may require different approaches.

57 limestone is generally used in preparation for concrete or asphalt, fill drainage or backfill. It can also be a good solution for water problems. The sizing of this limestone is a mix ranging from 1/4 inch to 1 inch.

Crusher Run is an affordable limestone rock that has been blasted, crushed and screened for an end product that is generally around 3/4 inch in size, mixed with stone dust. It holds in place and compacts more efficiently than other rock, making it well suited for a durable foundation or fill base, driveway stone or roadway stabilizer. The sizing of this type of limestone is 3/4 inch and 1 1/2 inch.

Rip Rap is a larger diameter limestone rock compared to other crushed rock and is commonly used to create sea walls on the shorelines of lake lots, creek lots, and embankments for erosion control. It is also used as a decorative landscaping solution along sloped driveways, roads, parking lots and drainage ditches. Somewhat bulky and difficult to walk across, these rocks generally range from cantaloupe to football size (usually 6 inches to 10 inches).

Pea gravel is a naturally rounded, brown stone, that is also referred to as river rock. The pea-sized pebbles make it easy to rake and shovel for landscaping projects and walkways.
